Blue, gold and a bow

Hi everyone!

My backlog continues as this post features my nails from last month. I've been hanging onto the 3D blue bows for quite some time without an occasion to wear some blinged up nails. Well, the occasion never came, but I still wanted to wear them, so I paired the bow up with some gold and blue :) I chose OPI Can't find my Czechbook and Orly Bling to match the bow and also added a gold stud on my pinky to complete the look.

I'm off to prepare for my New Year's Eve party tonight now. Have a wonderful time with family and friends, and I'll catch you in 2015!

Orly Saturated and OPI Servin' Up Sparkle

Hi there!

It's almost the end of 2014 and I still have a huge backlog of photos to post from this year! Coincidently, today's look kind of fits in with the Near Year's Eve feel with the glitter sparkle :) Iused Orly Saturated for the base purple and OPI Servin' up sparkle for the glitter gradient.

An Enchanting Christmas tree

Hi everyone :)

I can't believe it's only 2 more days until Christmas - where has 2014 gone?! As usual, I'm not one for themed nail art ideas, but I couldn't pass up a cute dotted Christmas tree look using my very own Picture Polish Enchanting.

I started with two coats of Enchanting on my index and ring finger. I then created the scaled gradient with Picture Polish Kryptonite on my ring finger using a tutorial by @simplynailogical's. The gorgeous silver holographic is Orly Mirrorball and the Christmas tree is made up of Enchanting and Kryptonite.

Loving the simplicity of this look, although the scaled gradient did require a little more effort :P Definitely worth it though!

What Christmas looks have you created for the season?

OPI Do you have this color in Stockholm is a lovely saturated purple I just had to wear! I paired it with some OPI Need sunglasses? and Orly Bling for the well...bling holographic goodness I can't seem to get enough of!

Swatches & review: Orly Mirrorball

Hi everyone!

As with most nail polish brands, Orly has come out with a Holiday collection and it contains a STELLAR shade (if I do say so myself). Mirrorball is an amazing silver holographic glitter, densely packed and completely opaque in three coats.

And even under indirect light, the holographic goodness still comes out to play.

Have you picked up this beautiful shade yet?

Green and gold mix & match

Hi ladies.

It's a new month, so I'm going to try once again to post more regularly on here! Plus, my backlog of photos is never ending - I just need to get around to editing them all :P

Today's post features a look I put together waaaay back towards the end of August...but at least it's simple? ^^;; I think the green is Orly Green with envy and the beautiful holographic polish is Orly Sparkling garbage. The satin gold is OPI Love. Angel. Music Baby. I used NailVinyls in mini chevron to designthe look on my index.

Classic Witch

Hello there :)

I pulled out Orly Classic contours, a dusty mauve shade, to pair with OPI Which is witch. I love the delicate look of this overall manicure and how it still remains quite work appropriate despite the glitter.

Orly Smoked Out

Hello everyone!

When I first applied Orly Smoked out from the Smoked Out collection, I definitely did not expect a matte finish. It's a very mesmerising deep green polish with gold shimmer, but it really comes to life when a glossy top coat is applied to it. Check out the matte and glossy finishes below :)

Green and gold skittle

Hey there :) Wow, this manicure was put together a while ago so please bear with me as I try to recall the nail polishes used! I believe the mint green is Essie Turquoise & Caicos, the gold foil is Hello Kitty Golden girl, the gold glitter is OPI My favourite ornament and the holographic sparkle on my pinky is Orly Sparkling garbage.

I love the mint green and gold combination here, makes me want to do something with these colours again!

Swatches & review: Orly Baked collection

Hi everyone! Today I have some beautiful bright shades to share with you from Orly's upcoming Baked collection. Before I get into the individual nail polish review part, I just need to rave a little about the pigmentation of these neon shades. I'm sure most of you are aware that neon nail polishes mostly conjure up images of a sheer formula, coupled with the need to start off with a white base colour to help the neon 'pop'. Well, I know for sure that my picks from the collection certainly do not need the extra step and the neon finish is as bright as ever!

First up, I have my favourite of my three picks.

Hot tropics is a gorgeous, gorgeous purple neon with gold shimmer flecks. I absolutely love the combination of purple and gold and this nail polish is a huge winner in my book. I applied two easy coats and finished with a layer of top coat for a glossy finish.

Oh Ablaze, what can I say about you? It is a super bright neon - think highlighter orange on max brightness! Again, it contains the beautiful golden flecks which make it so much more interesting. I applied two coats and one coat of top coat.

Saturated is a more toned down shade of the collection, but since it's purple, it ranks pretty high up on my list! It's bright and dusty at the same time, and just as the name describes it - a saturated purple shade. Two coats plus top coat.

Orly Baked collection will be available in July 2014 Australia wide. Each bottle of polish retails at $18.95.

Are you a fan of neons? Which shades will you be picking up from this collection?

A studded naked canvas

Hello ladies. I decided to combine some neutral and black shades to create a chic way to wear black. The neutral and off white shade is Orly Naked canvas and the black is OPI 4 in the morning. I decided to layer Essence Make it golden over Naked canvas as an accent on my middle finger. To match the gold accent, I also placed some studs on my pinky & index.

January Nail Art Challenge: Sparkles

Hi ladies :) Today's prompt was 'sparkles' and it definitely made me think of glitter. I decided to go with a simple reverse glitter gradient since I wasn't feeling too inspired by the theme. I used Orly Green with envy and created the gradient with OPI Which is witch.

Swatches & review: Orly Blush collection

Hello everyone :) Today I have two beautiful shades from Orly's Blush collection to share with you. I don't know about you, but I find these softer shades to be such great palette cleansers after wearing the bolder and brighter summer shades.

First up I have Cheeky, a light coral with beautiful gold shimmer. The orange undertone clashes horribly with my skin tone but I really don't mind when Cheeky looks this good! This was two coats.

Naked canvas is a little deceiving when photographed. It may look like just another plain off-white crème, but it actually has an almost hidden purple shimmer running throughout it. It's definitely more apparent in real life than in photos. Two coats were applied.

There are another four nail polishes in the Blush collection:
  • Classic contours: A mauve crème.
  • First blush: A hot pink crème.
  • Dare to bare: Musk pink crème.
  • Flawless flush: Lilac shimmer.
This collection will be available in Australia February 2014 from www.orlybeauty.com.au. Each bottle will retail for $18.95.

Are you a fan of these delicate shades? Which ones will you be picking up?

When red and black meet

Hello everyone :) I really should get my act together - my backlog of photos is starting in pile up again!

Whenever I feel the urge to pull out black nail polish to wear, I always seem to pair it with another shade - and this time is no different :P I applied two coats of Picture Polish O'Hara and then created a gradient with Ulta3 black satin on my index and pinky nails. On my middle nail, I have two coats of black satin layered with Orly Rockets red glare.
