Polka dots, stripes and flowers

Hello hello~ A rather random title today because I really don't know what to call this manicure. At least it's a move away from the blue/green shades ;) I started off with OPI My very first knockwurst as a base polish on all my nails and then jazzed them up a bit.

Pinky & index: I used a dotting tool and Ulta3 lily white to do the dots.
Ring & thumb: Using a white striper brush, I drew the stripes and then took OPI My address is Hollywood and Hello Kitty Golden girl to paint the flowers.
Middle: I stamped with BM-313 and a black polish, then layered on OPI Pirouette my whistle

I loved how delicate this mani looked whilst still having a little fun in it with the skittling. Yes, I've moved on and am branching out to different shades but somehow, I just enjoy having a variety of designs on each nail :)

What do you think, sick of the skittles yet? ;) Please take a moment to like Polish Infatuated on facebook as well :)

Swatches and review: Ozotic Scatter Chrome 910

Hi ladies! Just before I getting into the juicy bits of the post, I've finally made a facebook page! If you're an avid user of facebook, it would be great if you like the page and follow my ramblings over there as well :)

Now onto the polish!

I'm super excited for this post as I have the utmost privilege to show you one of the polishes from Ozotic's new Scatter Chrome collection. I have the most beautiful 910 to share and it seriously is amazing...so I'll just get right into the pictures! :)

ozotic 910 1

I applied two coats of 910 onto my nails and it was very opaque on its first coat, considering it's a duochrome. It flowed on flawlessly and there was definitely no need for any cleaning up. I love the shift in colour from blue, green and gold - I really could just stare at my nails the whole day with it on ;)

Some of you may think of this as yet another Peridot/Just spotted the lizard/whatever else dupe, but I reckon 910 stands out way more because of the holographic glitter swimming in the polish. The polish doesn't dry bumpy despite the glitter so it's definitely a plus! I've included some sunny photos as well as a natural light one to show you how much it just glows in direct light :)

ozotic 910 2

910 dims down a little in natural light but you can still catch the colour shifts of the holographic glitter.

ozotic 910 3

ozotic 910 4

Here on my middle and pinky nails, I layered one coat of 910 over a black base colour. You can see just how much more the duochrome pops with the dark base!

ozotic 910 5

The Scatter Chrome collection will be available from piCture pOlish next week. You can also keep up to date with all Ozotic (and piCture pOlish) nail polish news from their facebook page.

What do you think of this collection so far? Any that you really need? ;)

A flowery Skinny Dip

Hello everyone~ Funny title, I know. But lets get onto the nails!

I first applied two coats of Orly Skinny dip, the most amazing shimmery bright blue I have seen so far. Love it! Wanting to add something more, I took my Bundle Monster and fauxnad plates to stamp with: BM-321, m69 & C02 using Rimmel Your majesty and a stamping white polish.

And here is two coats of Skinny dip by itself. Stunning!

Review: Butterfly sequin nail decals

Hello hello :) Born Pretty Store also offered me the chance to try out another new product, which are some gold butterfly sequins that can be used for nail art. According to them, there are 1000 pieces in the little bag. I totally have not counted (hello there, mountain of uni assignments!) but there are so many they'll last you a lifetime :) I decided to put together a skittled nail art manicure for this look.

Pinky: Two coats of Eclipse #706 Bikini blue and sponged the tips with Hello Kitty Golden girl
Ring: Two coats of Bikini blue and layered with two coats of China Glaze Atlantis
Middle: Two coats of Bikini blue and stamped with Ulta3 lily white and fauxnad plate m65. I used the double sided stamper for this as my old one is slightly too small for full images.
Index: Two coats of Australis Blackmail and dotted with Bikini blue
Thumb: Two coats of Bikini blue and sponged with Golden girl. The butterfly sequin was applied with lots of topcoat to ensure the edges didn't stick up and get caught in everything!

the blues-polka dot, flowers, butterflies and glitter4

the blues-polka dot, flowers, butterflies and glitter2

the blues-polka dot, flowers, butterflies and glitter3

At first, I was afraid that the butterfly sequins would get caught in clothes, hair, and all sorts of other things but I piled on the top coat layers and it's been fine after two days of hard wear. I'm pretty pleased with it, that's for sure! Also, I love that that I now have another stamper to use, looking forward to trying some mirror stamping!

Born Pretty Store offers free shipping on all purchases aaaand you can also use my discount code PIJ61 for a further 10% off your total!

I had the cutest question from work by one of the children when they saw my nails - a little boy asked me how I made the blue dots and surrounded it with black nail polish. So cuuuuuuuute! ♥ Of course, a well informed little girl explained that I applied the black nail polish before doing the dots. Future nail artist there, ladies :D

Phew, what a long post! What do you think of this mani? :P

Review: Flocking powder

Hi ladies! I have an exciting review to share with you all today - I recently received some newly stocked products from Born Pretty Store and here are my thoughts on one of them. First up is the flocking powder in 'sky blue'. I decided to apply this over Eclipse #706 Bikini blue so I started off with two coats of the polish. Whilst the base polish was still wet, I sprinkled the flocking powder over the nail. Once it was covered, I patted down the powder to ensure it was firmly stuck onto the nail.

Note that my ring finger is not covered very well - my base polish had dried already and I learned (quickly!) to apply another coat before continuing with the rest of my nails :P

flocking powder1

flocking powder2

flocking powder3

Due to the fluffy texture of the powder, I didn't apply a top coat. I assume these nails will be suitable for a short wear time only as they powder will probably eventually drop off without the protection of top coat. I really like that it's something different and can spice up a manicure which you are getting bored of :) The flocking powder can be purchased from Born Pretty Store for $5.80. It comes in a container of 13g so you'll definitely have lots to play with!

Born Pretty Store offers free shipping and you can also use my discount code PIJ61 for a further 10% off your total.

What do you think of this type of nail art? Are you a fan?

Some turquoise and silver

Hi ladies :) I'm really loving the blues and greens lately for some reason. Today's manicure features a blue toned green - turquoise! ♥ I started with two coats of Catrice Am I blue or green?, then layered a coat of Essie Turquoise & Caicos over it. On my pinky and index, I applied reverse glitter gradient with OPI Servin' up sparkle. On my ring, I have two coats of Face of Australia Titanium, then freehanded the tip with Turquoise & Caicos. For my middlle nail, I freehanded the french tip with Titanium and took my nail art striper to add the silver line. On my thumb, I used my medium dotter and Titanium to do the dots.

I loved how soft and pretty this manicure looked. I'm totally going to try it again with different colour combinations :)

Swatches and review: Orly Spazmatic

Hello everyone~ I have a quick post today. I recently received Orly Spazmatic in the mail and just had to put it on asap! This gorgeous blue glitter is suspended in a shimmer base, adding to the awesome that it already is. I layered two coats of Spazmatic over Australis Blackmail.

I just love the shimmer - it reminds me of  OPI Nothin' mousie 'bout it, except with less of the purple/pink shifts. Mmmm, these shimmers are stunning ♥

Spazmatic and the rest of the Flash Glam collection will be available in Australia from December 1, 2012. Orly lacquers retail for $18.95 each and can be purchased from Orly Beauty or calling 1300 769 355.

Rainbow sorbet gradient! ♥

Hey everyone! I actually wore this manicure awhile ago but because of the backlog of manis, the OCD in me just had to post them first :P Anyway! I lovedddddddddddd the way this turned out and totally screamed rainbow sorbet when I saw the final outcome! Check it out below :)

I started with a base of Ulta3 lily white. Then, from pinky to thumb I sponged the gradient with the following polishes: Ulta3 spring blossom, spring shower, China Glaze Re-fresh mint, Ulta3 spring fling and China Glaze Light as air. I topped everything off with OPI Servin' up sparkle and a top coat.

And I just had to change it up for my right hand :P

I adored the way my nails turned out and sported this for more than two days...yes, that is unusual for me ;) It was so cheery and spring like - I didn't have the heart to remove it too quickly.

How are you welcoming spring in? For the northern hemisphere girls, have you let go of your spring/summer shades yet? :P

Elegant, blue and 3D nails

Hi everyone! Awhile back my friend had a birthday party with the theme being elegant...that's right up my alley. I adore elegant styles and of course, my nails were totally done to fit the theme :P Here's what I came up with!

I started with two coats of Australis Sky blue. I then did a reverse glitter gradient using LA Colors Sparkling diamonds before placing some rhinestones and pearls randomly onto the nails. I finished it off by sealing my manicure in with a top coat.

blue and elegant1

blue and elegant2

I loved it while it lasted. Having not had a 3D manicure in awhile, I kept running my fingers over my nails and finding the feeling strange haha :P Despite this, none of the jewels came off and I had to scrub hard when it came to removal time.

What do you think, are you a fan of this manicure style?

A teal and glittery layering combo

Hello hello~ Short post today because I'm pooped! I layered two coats of The Face Shop BL801 over Australis Blackmail and was blown away by the pretty teal shimmer which appeared.

Yum yum ♥The Face Shop should start naming their polishes. It's so hard to remember what they're called without having to refer back to my nail polish spreadsheet.

Do unnamed nail polishes frustrate you? What's the worse you've come across?

Elegant wedding nails

Why hello ladies! Did I mention that Uni is tough and I have a load of assignments to plough through before I graduate? I will persevere with the blogging though, especially when it's one of the few things keeping me sane.

I have a friend's wedding coming up and am preparing potential notds to sport on the day - this is one I tried out a few weeks ago. I started with a base of Ulta3 Lily white and then stamped from BM-314 with OPI Do you lilac it. I dotted the ends with Face of Australia Titanium.

Is this elegant? Fit for a wedding?
