A rainbow gradient

Hey everyone.

I've always wanted to try out the vertical gradient look, but could never seem to get the colours to blend well. It finally worked for me this time though, and I'm really happy with the result!

This was actually done awhile back, so I can't remember all the nail polishes I used. I'll give it a shot though:

Pink - Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Pinky promise
Purple - I really have no clue with this one because I own too many purples in this shade!
Blue - Sally Hansen Miracle Gel B Girl
Green - Ulta3 Corsican rose
Yellow - Ulta3 Spring blossom

All topped with Glitter Gal Galaxy holo top coat.

Rainbow watermarble

Hi ladies :) I felt like I hadn't watermarbled in the longest time (meaning over a year!) and after seeing a whole bunch of beautiful watermarbled nails on instagram, I was inspired to create my own. These were done way back in July so I don't really remember the polishes used, except for the one I'm holding on to...oops! The orange is definitely OPI Call me Gwen-ever. Oh, and the holographic sparkle is from Glitter Gal Galaxy Holo Top Coat.

And under the sun

The marbling does look a bit random, so I'm hoping that with some more practice, I can get some uniform designs coming up :)

Bright rainbow gradient

Hi ladies :) Ever since I started full time work, I have tended to sway away from wearing brighter shades all within a single manicure. During the time I wore this manicure though, I was quickly approaching my holiday overseas and I was filled with excitement, so I just had to celebrate a little with this colourful and bright gradient!

I started with a plain white crème (Ulta3 Lily white), and then took OPI Hey baby (pink), Need sunglasses? (yellow), Can't find my Czechbook (blue) and A grape fit (purple) and sponged the gradient onto my nails. I layered over it Glitter Gal Galaxy Holo top coat, something I was constantly reaching for to give that extra sparkle!

Blue and gold cheetah

Hey everyone :) Whilst I was still grasping onto the last of the warmer weather here down under, I pulled out my favourite sky blue OPI Can't find my Czechbook and paired it with some gold and cheetah print. The gold glitter is OPI My favorite ornament and the off white shade is OPI My vampire is buff. I layered a coat of Glitter Gal Galaxy holo top coat on my index finger.

And in the sun :)

Shopping the Stash: R for Rimmel

Hey ladies! The only brand in my stash which begins with 'R' happens to be Rimmel, so I pulled out my favourite grey in Grey matter. I decided to try out a grey holographic combination and so layered two thin coats of Glitter Gal Galaxy Holo top coat over it.

I love the look of this grey with a holographic finish. What is your favourite grey polish?

Hey baby, it's a galaxy!

Hi~ :) This is such a lame title, but I do rather like how my nails turned out here haha. I started with two coats of OPI Hey baby and then took Glitter Gal Galaxy holo top coat to create a pink holographic finish. I'm pretty in love with the way this turned out ♥

Purple & holographic ♥

Hi ladies! What more can I say when I put purple and holographic nail polishes together? ;) I used Bourjois 2007 1 Seconde nail enamel as the base purple shade. On my ring and middle fingers, I used China Glaze OMG. This design was inspired by La paillette frondeuse and I much more prefer her version :P

I also layered a coat of Glitter Gal Galaxy holo top coat over the other nails - I actually quite like the look of it here! Maybe I need to find some good base shades to pair it with :P

Swatches & review: Glitter Gal She's Cactus & Galaxy Holo Top Coat

Hi ladies! Australian nail polish brand Glitter Gal recently launched two new collections with an Australian theme. I have She's cactus from the Celebrate - Sydney Style collection to share with you today. The name She's cactus is actually Australian slang for 'something dead or broken'.

The green shade is bright and almost leans on neon. It's definitely not something I normally would pick up, but I'm glad to have it in my stash now :) This was two coats and sealed with Glitter Gal Gloss Boss, which is super shiny and super quick drying.

I decided to layer over a coat of Galaxy holo top coat to add some rainbow sparkles. I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the holographic effect - it's definitely not as in your face as I would have liked! It's more subtle and definitely adds interest to an otherwise 'plain' manicure. I might add a second coat next time and see if that makes a difference.

Glitter Gal crème nail polishes retail for $9.95 for 10ml. The Galaxy holo top coat is $11.95 for a 10ml bottle.

Shopping the stash: G for Glitter Gal

Hey everyone! For the letter G, I chose to showcase Australian brand Glitter Gal. 10 to midnight is a pretty dark charcoal holographic polish with a slight metallic finish as well. So much love ♥

I'm not normally a huge lover of metallic finishes but I think it adds a little more interest to the final look here. What do you think?

Swatches and review: Glitter Gal Hot Chilli & 10 to Midnight

Hi everyone! Some of you may be familiar with Australian brand Glitter Gal, one of the first Australian nail polish brands to release stunning holographic polishes. The recently released two new shades and I have one of them to show you, along with an older shade, but just as stunning :)

Hot chilli is a bright red holographic. As most holo lovers know, red is a really hard shade to create with this finish as it may cause the end result to look more pink. Glitter Gal has hit the mark with this one though and it's a gorgeous red shade ♥ The swatch shows two easy coats.

10 to midnight is an older charcoal grey holo polish. There's actually some metallic finish within this polish and makes me love it all the more. Ironic because I don't usually love metallic finishes! Photos show two coats of the pretty shade.

Glitter Gal nail polishes are available from the website. 10mL bottles are $11.95 each and 15mL bottles go for $17.95. While this may sound pricey from some international ladies, this is actually the 'norm' in terms of nail polish prices within Australia. Just think, OPI bottles retail for $20 each!

Flowers and violets

Hello hello~ Short post today! I started with two coats of Glitter Gal Hidden violets, a beautiful violet polish with the prettiest duochrome ♥ I then stamped an image from Bundle Monster's 2011 plate set BM-221 over it with Ulta3 Gold rush fever.

Stamping series: OMG, black roses!

Hello ladies! Since getting into stamping and receiving some plates to play with, I decided to start a stamping series, showcasing my beginner's skills :P Be warned that these may not be the best stamping ever but I look forward to the improvement which should follow with practice.

After wearing China Glaze OMG on its own for a few days, I decided it was time to upgrade it :P As I have been quite busy lately, I have been resorting to stamping for a quick and easy nail art design. I quite liked how this mani turned out. I stamped with plate m65 from Born Pretty Store and Glitter Gal Black holographic. The holo in the black didn't turn out quite as well as I hoped but the contrast in the colours still look great :)

Mmm, I love how the rainbow of colours just dance across the nails ♥

Blue & silver cloud design

Hey everyone~ After my last post featuring the cloud design and loving it loads, I decided to try it out with some different colours. In the mood for a darker mani, I started off with two coats of Australis Blackmail on all my nails except my ring finger. I applied two coats of Glitter Gal black holographic instead.

On my middle fingers and thumb, I first took Face of Australia Titanium for the silver cloud layer, then used Orly Sweet peacock for the final blue bit. For my pinky and index fingers, I layered one coat of China Glaze Gleam me up for the blue glitter crackle.

Unfortunately, I didn't quite like this as much as my first cloud design mani. I took it off the next day :P

Swatches & review: Glitter Gal Hidden Violets

Hi ladies~ I recently received a beautiful duochrome polish in the mail by none other than Aussie brand Glitter Gal! Hidden violets is part of the new 'Soft' Shade Shifters range and features a glorious purple-blue duochrome effect. Check out my mini photo spam and be ready to fall in love ;)

I layered just one coat of Hidden violets over a black shade in order for the duochrome to really pop! My photos don't show any top coat and it is still soooo shiny <3

You may have heard of Glitter Gal and the beautiful holographic polishes they have in their range before. This brand has recently expanded their range, providing not only Shade Shifter like the above example, but also Transition and Opal Effect ranges. Here is a little information about the brand:

A girly mani...for Valentine's Day?

Hello everyone~ This  is the last of my scheduled posts ^^ As you're reading this, I'm probably scrambling around doing my last minute packing and hoping that my luggage doesn't weigh over 20kg :P And of course, already missing Hong Kong as well! That's right, I'm finally flying back to Australia. *teary eyes* Anyway!

This mani didn't go the way I had intended it to haha. Maybe it was the colours I used, but it turned out to be quite girly...not something I wear often. I guess this is sort of suitable for Valentine's Day? :P

I started off with two coats of Ulta3 lily white. My bottle is getting sooo thick and gluggy and no amount of thinner thins it out :(. I really need a new one so application won't be such a pain! Anyway. After that finally dried, I applied a thick coat of Glitter Gal Fuchsia and Black alternatively only my nails for the stripes. I used a nail art polish to add the thin silver glitter stripes.

And a photo with flash as I didn't have sun to show off the holo polishes :)

I'm not really into celebrating Valentine's Day - I think it's just a good day for us consumers to be ripped off! A simple dinner is fine with me and plus, I don't need a day to especially show my love; I hope to do it all the time ^^ What are you doing with your loved one though?
