Live Love Carnival Milky way

Hi ladies! :) One of my favourites from OPI's Brazil collection is Live Love Carnival, so I just had to pull out this beautiful coral to use a few weeks back. I also layered a coat of Alanna Renee Milky way over it for the gorgeous iridescent glitter finish.

I absolutely adored the bright base paired with the glitter ♥

A steampunk nail art

Hello hello! In this post, I am showing my attempt at a 'steampunk' nail art look :P I'm not sure I did the theme justice, but I actually quite liked the way this manicure turned out anyway.

The black is two coats of Ulta3 Black satin. I simply added some studs onto my pinky. On my ring finger, I have three coats of Shimmer Polish Candace. I stamped the image from BM-415 onto my middle finger. For my index, I created a gold glitter gradient using Alanna Renee Golden snitch. Lastly, I applied two coats of Hello Kitty Golden girl onto my thumb.

I love how classic black and gold look together, and in this case, a touch 'badass' too ;) What do you think of this look?

Purple & pink gradient stamped

Hello everyone. Today's post is inspired by the amazingly talented Cathy over at More Nail Polish. When I saw her gradient with stamping manicure, I knew I would have to give it a shot myself. I decided to use OPI A grape fit and Australis K-pop for the gradient, before layering with Alanna Renee Milky way. For my ring and middle fingers, I painted A grape fit and K-pop randomly over the nail before stamping with BM-410 and Ulta3 Black satin.

I'm really in love with the gradient look right now, so expect to see some more nail looks featuring this technique ;)

Swatches & review: Alanna Renee Bundle of Joy collection

Hello everyone! I have the greatest pleasure in sharing some nail polishes from Australian indie brand Alanna Renee Bundle of Joy collection. The collection consists of three pastel shimmers and two glitters. In addition to the launch of Bundle of Joy, Alanna has also decided to release Lenny, a nail polish she created for What's In-die Box June.

First up though, all Alanna Renee nail polishes now come boxed! I love the light purple packaging which is simple and straight to the point.

Here is It's a girl!, a sweet pastel pink with a soft silver shimmer. Although it's soft, it's still apparent in real life and it's such a pity that the shimmer doesn't show up as much in the photos. This was two coats of It's a girl!.

It's a boy! is the pastel blue equivalent of the polish above. It's a little brighter than I had expected for a pastel blue but I love it all the same. Again, the shimmer decided to play hide and seek for my photos - it is definitely more apparent in real life. Two coats.

Sugar & spice & all things nice is one of the glitters in the collection. It's pretty dense, which I was surprised with, as I expected it to be a layering glitter. I had to really wipe my brush off to layer one coat over It's a boy!. I just love the combination of colours in this glitter mixture - you can never go wrong when there's purple glitter around ♥ ;)

Lenny is a mixture of smaller blue and orange glitters mixed with larger black circle glitter in a milky white base. I actually didn't expect the polish to be too opaque but was surprised with how it looked at two coats, which is what my swatches show. The black glitters were harder to get out and required some fishing. Overall though, I'm impressed with Alanna's interpretation of Lenny from Toy Story - the glitters are really spot on!

OPI In the cable car-pool lane meets Milky Way

Hi ladies! Here is a quick post featuring a pretty layering using Alanna Renee's Milky way. I started with two coats of OPI In the cable car-pool lane and then added a coat of Milky way over it. Instant love! ♥

I love the iridescent glitters used in Milky way, it makes it look so beautiful ♥ What do you think? :)

1879 Java meets Golden Snitch

Hello ladies~ I previously mentioned in two posts about some nail polishes which looked absolutely awesome - just not on me :P Bourjois 1879 Java and Alanna Renee Golden snitch were the unfortunate culprits but when combined, they looked too amazing ♥ This was two coats of 1879 Java layered with a super thin coat of Golden snitch, it's that much of a glitter bomb!

The two polishes looked so much better on me together, so yay to that! :) Have you ever tried putting together two polishes which just didn't work with your skin tone and be wowed by the outcome?

Studding up my nails

Hi ladies~ I was in the mood for an excessive 3D nail art look but I wanted it to be a little more different than my previous attempts (see here and here). So I pulled out some studs to play with instead! ;)

Pinky & index: Three coats of OPI Here today...Aragon tomorrow and then applied a glitter gradient with Alanna Renee Golden snitch.
Ring: Two coats of OPI Live and let die.
Middle: Three coats of Here today...Aragon tomorrow and some square studs.
Thumb: Two coats of Golden snitch and then I taped off my nails and applied Live and let die. Finished the nail off with some bullion beads and a tear drop stud :)

It's not as excessive as I had initially felt like putting on my nails but I really enjoyed the studded look ♥ I used the studs from this stud wheel available on Born Pretty Store. I believe some of the studs I received were different to the ones shown in the photo. As usual, you can use my discount code PIJ61 for 10% off your total purchase.

Swatches and review: Alanna Renee polishes

Hello ladies~ Today, I have the distinct pleasure of posting about some gorgeous polishes made by Australian indie maker Alanna. Her brand of nail polishes, Alanna Renee, consist of a solid line of glitters which can be used for layering purposes or worn alone. So far, Alanna has released one collection made up of 12 polishes, on top of her original 10 polishes. Did I mention the most recent Magical World collection was inspired by the Harry Potter series? ;)

Enough chit chat though, you're all here for the polish anyway! First up, I have two nail polishes from the Magical World collection.

Fawkes is a fiery red polish filled with gold and red glitter pieces. The bottle I am showing you is actually a re-formulated version of Fawkes. Its predecessor did not have as much gold glitter and was more of a jelly glitter. For the photos, I applied three coats of the nail polish, topped with two coats of top coat. I loved Fawkes so much I wore it for three days! ♥

Golden snitch of course, consists of various gold glitter pieces. The thing I love the most about this glitter bomb though, is the addition of gold circle glitter. How very appropriate for the snitch! And of course, I'm beginning to have this...thing for circle glitter pieces too ;) Below I have three coats of Golden snitch topped with two coats of top coat.

Whilst I love Golden snitch, I knew in my heart that it would clash horribly with my skin tone. However, stay tuned for how I prove I can wear it and have it actually look nice on me... ;)

Milky way is from Alanna's first release of the Alanna Renee polish brand. It is the most beautiful layering glitter, I swear! I love how versatile it looks over different shades of nail polishes and the way it transform the base colour into something so unique and mesmerising...trust me, you really need to own Milky way.

Here it is, layered over Bourjois 1863 Les Theatres.

And layered over Bourjoise 1928 Soir de Paris.
