Spring has arrived!

Hello lovelies~ Spring has arrived here in Australia and so what better way to celebrate this than to bring out the pastel polish shades? :) I saw 'chelle's awesome pastel mani and was inspired to create my own. I don't have any flower fimos so I used my dotting tool to paint some myself ^^

Boy, I used soooo many nail polishes for this mani. All stripes were applied with Glossyblossom nail art striper in white. Here's the whole list!

Pinky: base - two coats of Ulta3 spring fling; flower - Ulta3 watermelon, spring blossom
Ring: base - two coats of China Glaze Light as air; flower - Color Club Uptown girl, Ulta3 spring blossom
Middle: base - three coats of China Glaze Re-fresh mint; flower - Misa Dirty sexy money, Ulta3 spring blossom
Index: base - three coats of Ulta3 spring blossom; flower - mix of Ulta3 spring blossom & spring fling
Thumb: base - two coats of Ulta3 spring shower; flower - China Glaze First mate, Ulta3 spring blossom

How fitting is it that half the polishes I used had 'spring' in their name? :) I am so, so, soooo in love with this mani ♥♥ I keep staring at my nails-eeeeek! Hehe, I love my pastel polishes and totally need to own more of them. What do you think of pastel shades? :)

  6. I love these! When I was a little kid, high school and college girls would volunteer at the hospital. They wore uniform dresses with these stripes in pink. They called them 'candy-stripers.' Totally a thing of the past. LOL

  35. This is such a perfect spring mani!!!  You did such a beautiful job on it too!  I have a weakness for pastels.  I have so many baby blues, mint greens, lavenders...  One of my favorite pastel collections was Orly's Sweets.  <3

  36. What a beautiful mani! Here in Sweden we´re going towards the autumn no so I´m picking up darker and darker colours from my stash when I´ll paint the nails. But I hope I remember this mani when the spring is coming back in April.

  50. Hi Sharon! I simply had to copy this design, it's so cuuutee!! I think it's even more fun with dotting tool flowers instead of fimos. And I love the colour combination.
I posted my go on my blog and credited you of course. Here's the link: http://talon-ted.blogspot.com/2011/11/day-12-wobbles-and-stripes.html, if you want to see it.

  52. Hey Sharon!
They are very nice nails :)I was wondering how you make them so neat? Every time i do mine, the nail polish always gets onto my skin and cuticle. Is there some special trick to making them neat?Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thanks Gracie :) I'm going to be clichéd, but the neatness really comes down to practice. When I had just started painting my nails, they never looked this neat! Instead, I took an angled brush, dipped it into polish remover and went along the edges near my cuticle to clean up the polish. I rarely do that nowadays as I just polish my nails too much and have gotten used to doing them neatly :P

I hope this helps you and remember, practice makes perfect! :)
