OPI In the Cable Car-Pool Lane

Hi everyone! Here is a quick post featuring OPI In the cable car-pool lane. I wore this a while back when I was in a serious inspiration slump. I still wanted to paint my nails though, so I pulled this one out and called it a day :P

Swatches & review: Orly Baked collection

Hi everyone! Today I have some beautiful bright shades to share with you from Orly's upcoming Baked collection. Before I get into the individual nail polish review part, I just need to rave a little about the pigmentation of these neon shades. I'm sure most of you are aware that neon nail polishes mostly conjure up images of a sheer formula, coupled with the need to start off with a white base colour to help the neon 'pop'. Well, I know for sure that my picks from the collection certainly do not need the extra step and the neon finish is as bright as ever!

First up, I have my favourite of my three picks.

Hot tropics is a gorgeous, gorgeous purple neon with gold shimmer flecks. I absolutely love the combination of purple and gold and this nail polish is a huge winner in my book. I applied two easy coats and finished with a layer of top coat for a glossy finish.

Oh Ablaze, what can I say about you? It is a super bright neon - think highlighter orange on max brightness! Again, it contains the beautiful golden flecks which make it so much more interesting. I applied two coats and one coat of top coat.

Saturated is a more toned down shade of the collection, but since it's purple, it ranks pretty high up on my list! It's bright and dusty at the same time, and just as the name describes it - a saturated purple shade. Two coats plus top coat.

Orly Baked collection will be available in July 2014 Australia wide. Each bottle of polish retails at $18.95.

Are you a fan of neons? Which shades will you be picking up from this collection?

A vampire Czechbook

Hello everyone :) I'm still taking my baby steps back into nail art after my break, so please excuse the wobbly freehand here! I quite liked the colour combination and nail art techniques - just need to work on the execution bit haha.

I used OPI Can't find my Czechbook and My vampire is buff for this look, plus my trusty striper brush and dotting tool :)

Swatches and review: OPI Muppets Most Wanted collection

Hi ladies! Today I have the pleasure of sharing with you my picks from OPI's Muppest Most Wanted collection.

This collection comprises of a mixture of sheer shades, a bolder blue and duochrome, as well as some glitters. As you can tell, I opted for the softer, but blingy look :)

I love applause is a beautiful, delicate pink. For a sheer, it applied very well and my photos show three thin coats.

Muppets world tour is a gorgeous glitter which I layered over I love applause. It is densely packed with glitter - my swatch shows one thin coat!

OPI Muppets Most Wanted is now available from David Jones, Myer and selected salons nation wide. Each bottle retails for $19.95.

Have you picked up any of the Muppets polishes? Which ones did you choose - the softer shades, the glittery ones, or perhaps the bolder shades? :)

Half moon roses

Hello everyone! I have my first nail art post after returning from overseas, so my technique is definitely a bit lacking after not polishing for a bit. I do like the look of it from a distance though, so I decided to post this :)

Pinky & index: Two coats of OPI A grape fit with OPI Haven't the foggiest for the half moon.
Ring: Two coats of Haven't the foggiest.
Middle: Two coats of A gape fit with the roses painted using OPI I love applause, Hey baby, Ulta3 Lily white, China Glaze Holly-day and Re-fresh mint.
Thumb: Two coats of A grape fit.

I did haul quite a bit of skincare products whilst overseas and surprisingly enough, only a few bottles of nail polish :P I guess I'm finally getting picky again over my nail polish purchases.

Do you go crazy with nail polish hunting when you're on holiday? ;)

OPI Thanks a Windmillion with Savvy by DB Razzle & Dazzle

Hi ladies. I apologise for disappearing a bit - I recently came back from an overseas trip and with my scheduled posts all up, my nails a wreck and trying to recover for the trip (oh hello there, work!), I had hardly any time for blogging. Thank goodness things have settled down now and I'm ready to dive back into it all ;)

For my trip, I decided to go with a simple layering using OPI Thanks a windmillion layered with Savvy by DB Razzle & dazzle.

Bright rainbow gradient

Hi ladies :) Ever since I started full time work, I have tended to sway away from wearing brighter shades all within a single manicure. During the time I wore this manicure though, I was quickly approaching my holiday overseas and I was filled with excitement, so I just had to celebrate a little with this colourful and bright gradient!

I started with a plain white crème (Ulta3 Lily white), and then took OPI Hey baby (pink), Need sunglasses? (yellow), Can't find my Czechbook (blue) and A grape fit (purple) and sponged the gradient onto my nails. I layered over it Glitter Gal Galaxy Holo top coat, something I was constantly reaching for to give that extra sparkle!

Work appropriate nails - with a twist!

Hello there :) Just before I painted my nails here, I had filed them down to a length shorter than I usually go for, and so I decided to apply a sheerer shade. I believe this helps draw attention away from my nail length and in fact, gives the illusion of a longer one - but that's just my opinion :) This was three coats of OPI Don't burst my bubble layered with a thick coat of OPI Which is witch?.

When do you feel like pulling out your more work appropriate shades to wear? :)

Blue and gold cheetah

Hey everyone :) Whilst I was still grasping onto the last of the warmer weather here down under, I pulled out my favourite sky blue OPI Can't find my Czechbook and paired it with some gold and cheetah print. The gold glitter is OPI My favorite ornament and the off white shade is OPI My vampire is buff. I layered a coat of Glitter Gal Galaxy holo top coat on my index finger.
