OPI Thanks a Windmillion with Savvy by DB Razzle & Dazzle

Hi ladies. I apologise for disappearing a bit - I recently came back from an overseas trip and with my scheduled posts all up, my nails a wreck and trying to recover for the trip (oh hello there, work!), I had hardly any time for blogging. Thank goodness things have settled down now and I'm ready to dive back into it all ;)

For my trip, I decided to go with a simple layering using OPI Thanks a windmillion layered with Savvy by DB Razzle & dazzle.

Splatter mint nails

Hi ladies. I think one of the designs I was most looking forward to when I saw the images on Bundle Monster's Create Your Own stamping set, was the splatter design. I applied three coats of Essence Always in my mint and layered a coat of Savvy by DB Razzle & Dazzle over the top. I love this A-England She walks in beauty dupe - so need to wear it more often! Taking my trusty Ulta3 black satin, I stamped the splatter design from BM-416.

I think I may have over done it with the glitter layering and the stamping, so I wasn't too happy with the end result. Still, I can't wait to use this image more! :)

Thanks for reading.

Savvy by DB - Razzle & Dazzle

Hi ladies! I don't know about you, but when I find happen across dupes which are super cheap, I just cannot resist. Especially when they're dupes to a huge lemming! Savvy by DB is a relatively cheap cosmetic brand which has put out some pretty interesting nail polishes recently. In fact, I'd say quite a few of them happen to be great dupes to their more expensive twin - such as Razzle & dazzle. A-England She walks in beauty has been on my lemming list for quite some time so you can imagine I pounced and grabbed Razzle & dazzle as soon as my eyes laid on them ;)

This is one coat layered over two coats of OPI Thanks a windmillion.

You can be sure that I'll be playing with this one lots! ♥ What do you think of cheaper nail polish companies duping higher end brands?

Penguin nail art for winter

Hello ladies~ It's winter and it's cold here in Australia at the moment. We don't get snow where I live but I wanted to sport some winter-themed nails so what's better than some penguin nail art? ;)

The base colour is two coats of  Misa Office polish-tics. I also happened to come across an A-England She walks in beauty dupe - Savvy by DB razzle and dazzle a few weeks back at Priceline and pounced on it. Of course, I also had to incorporate the pretty polish into this manicure somehow ;) Besides that, I also found Covergirl Midnight magic, dupe for OPI On her Majesty's Secret Service at Target when they had a pretty good sale (same day as when I found razzle and dazzle, actually! What a bargain polish day :P) and so again, I had to use it in this manicure.

The penguin was freehanded using acrylic paint.

The placing of the penguin could have been better but I loved this manicure all the same :) What do you think?

Some purple, glitter and cloud nails

Hi everyone :) Hmm, throw in some gold too, while you're at it. I decided against adding that to the already long title :P

I was going through a purple phase awhile back and this skittle was something I came up with while trying to make a plain old crème polish look more interesting. For my index and pinky, I started with two coats of OPI Do you lilac it? before layering a coat of Essence Make it golden. For my middle nail, I applied two coats of Hello Kitty Golden girl and used Australis Blackmail and Do you lilac it? to create the cloud nail art. Finally, on my ring nail and thumb, I applied two coats of Blackmail and layered Savvy by DB purple viking over it.

I absolutely loved the way this manicure turned out and how well this tied together. And just how beautiful does purple viking look layered over a black base! :D

Skittling is one of my favourite nail art techniques - it's so simple but can create such a wonderful effect.

Purple viking paired with Uptown girl?

Hi ladies! I didn't realise the hilarity of my layering combination nail polish name wise until I had to type up this post :P I started off with two coats of Color Club Uptown girl before layering one coat of Savvy by DB Purple viking over it. Gotta love the pairing of this...nail polish wise ;)

Savvy by DB is a nail polish line found in Priceline and was recently revamped with a better, cooler line of nail polishes. I can't wait to see what else this brand comes out with! At $2.99 per bottle, I may or may not have to go back and pick up the other glitters... :P

Purple viking reminds me of Sally Hansen Be-Jeweled, but a less dense version. I don't own the SH so I can't vouch for it but looking at swatches, they do seem rather close!

What do you think of this pretty purple glitter?

Nail art #16 - A sailor went to sea sea sea

In an attempt to reflect the sunny and warm days we had a couple of days ago, I tried my hand at some nautical themed nail art. I can't say I did  brilliantly though. Don't you just hate it when a beautifully planned out design in your head just doesn't translate onto your nails?
nautical

I applied two coats Savvy by DB's Cobalt and used Glossyblossom's nail art striper in White for the nail art. I made use of my rhinestones to form an anchor shape on my fourth finger and topped everything off with my Poshe top coat. I can't believe it streaked my stripes on my fifth finger! Oh Poshe :(.

I was alright with my result at first, but after looking at it the next morning, I began to dislike it. I don't even know why. -sigh- I really need to stop with the fail art and produce better nail art.

Thanks for dropping by.
