A silver that's not silver?

Hi ladies! Today I have my first ever Maxfactor nail polish :) It was gifted to me by a friend who wanted to clean out her stash...I was a very willing recipient! Shown in the photos are two coats of Silver. I don't get why it's called silver when the base is quite plainly a brown shade...although I do like the silver shimmer it gives off.

Does it annoy you when nail polish companies not only name their polish a colour...but it's the wrong colour too? :P

Thanks for reading :)

  1. I agree with you.  It's frustrating when a name just doesn't make sense.  I think a better name would be "Tarnished."

  2. This is really pretty!!  And yes, it does annoy me when polishes are named a color and it doesn't represent the true color of the polish!

  3. I guess it does have a worn silver look to it... I have a Libbee (discontinued brand I think?) polish called "Gold" and it's blue-grey jelly with gold shimmer in it, maybe their polish-naming person moved to Max Factor!

  8. LOL, maybe! :P Naming a polish after the shimmer instead of the base colour...so silly!
