Swatches and review: OPI Nicki Minaj collection part 1

Hi everyone! Today I have the first of two parts of OPI's Nicki Minaj collection to show you :) I'll be honest - when I first saw this collection, none of the nail polishes really wowed me except for the one with the bar glitter in it. And even then, it wasn't too interesting as bar glitter tends to make your nails look hairy. HOWEVER. I pretty much ate my words up the second I saw the bottles in person, and even more so when I wore them.

The first polish I tried was Fly. While it may look like a boring crème, it was so much more to me. I love the bright teal look as most of my teals are more of a dusty or dark shade. This was two coats of awesomeness and look at how glossy it is even without a top coat! The formula was a little thicker than normal crèmes but I didn't have any application problems with it. No clean up required!

I decided to layer on one thick coat of Save me over this shade and really liked the outcome. I love that the polish isn't filled with bar glitter (yay, no hairy nails!) - the silver glitter really helps add something extra to this beautiful polish. The bar glitters are holographic so see it dance the colours of the rainbow when your nails are in the sun!

While I didn't try this, I'm sure the glitter is able to be built up in 3-4 coats. I didn't try it as I loved this look and well...the thought of removing glitter didn't really appeal to me that much :P

  6. The glitter looks awesome in the bottle, but kind of meh on the nail... seems to happen with all bar glitter :( The bar glitter colours are gorgeous though!

  7. Love Fly - looks gorgeous. Not too keen on the glitter - I'd prefer normal glitter over the top.

  24. wow. I was debating whether to pick up fly on my next ebay polish trip. All the images I've seen of it looked duller and less BAM! then yours. But that layering combo and the bright bright teal..NEEDS! Gorgeous swatches!!
