Hello everyone! If you've been following my blog closely, you'll know that I'm a huge fan of the skittle look. I love incorporating different designs into a single manicure, most probably because I can't stare too long at plain nails ;) This time though, I may have tried a bit too hard and put too many different nail art techniques into a single look.
Roses, dots, reciprocal gradient...yep. I think there's just a little too much going on here! The blue polish is Ulta3 spring shower, pink is OPI Chic from ears to tail and the green for the petals is Misa Dirty sexy money.
What do you think, is this overkill or what? :P

Penguin nail art for winter
Hello ladies~ It's winter and it's cold here in Australia at the moment. We don't get snow where I live but I wanted to sport some winter-themed nails so what's better than some penguin nail art? ;)
The base colour is two coats of Misa Office polish-tics. I also happened to come across an A-England She walks in beauty dupe - Savvy by DB razzle and dazzle a few weeks back at Priceline and pounced on it. Of course, I also had to incorporate the pretty polish into this manicure somehow ;) Besides that, I also found Covergirl Midnight magic, dupe for OPI On her Majesty's Secret Service at Target when they had a pretty good sale (same day as when I found razzle and dazzle, actually! What a bargain polish day :P) and so again, I had to use it in this manicure.
The penguin was freehanded using acrylic paint.
The placing of the penguin could have been better but I loved this manicure all the same :) What do you think?

OPI First date at the Golden Gate dressed up
Hello hello :) After swatching all the polishes from OPI's San Francisco collection, I knew there were a few I had to wear as full manicures asap! First date at the Golden Gate was one of them. Being a plain red, I decided to jazz it up with a glitter layering - cue China Glaze Razzle me, Dazzle.
Don't you just love how glitters can make a single shade a little more exciting? :)

Teddy nail art
Hello everyone! Today's nail look features the cute Rilakkuma :) This was inspired by Wan's Rilakkuma nails, which I've been meaning to do for the longest time.
I started with two coats of OPI Thanks a windmillion on all my nails, except for the accent nail. The polka dots were done by using Ulta3 lily white and a medium sized dotting tool. I also layered a coat of OPI Which is witch? over Thanks a windmillion on my index and pinky nails. On my accent nail, I applied two coats of lily white, and then used Ulta3 earl grey for Rilakkuma.
I loved the outcome of my Rilakkuma - it actually turned out better than I expected it to :) What do you think of this?

Yellow and grey
Hi ladies! Here is a quick post showing a manicure I wore awhile back. I loved this one heaps too, especially the combination of the colours :)
Pinky & index: Two coats of Ulta3 spring blossom with a glitter gradient using Nicole by OPI Confetti fun.
Ring: Two coats of spring blossom and dotted with Rimmel Grey matter.
Middle: Two coats of spring blossom, then taped off and layered with Grey matter.
Thumb: Two coats of Grey matter and dotted with spring blossom.
I also added a matte top coat after a day to see what it looked like. I think I prefer the glossy version ;)
Yellow is definitely a colour I tend to stay away from due to my yellow toned skin. However, when paired with grey, it looked alright on me :D
What do you think - matte or glossy? :)

Spam post: A mixture of older and newer manicures
Hi ladies! This post really has some old manicures - I think the oldest one comes from December 2012 ;) It's picture heavy so I'll just get right into it.
OPI Siberian nights at the tips with Essence Make it golden.
I honestly don't remember the pink polish I used in this manicure, sorry! In my defence, this one was definitely one from December last year ^^" Stamping was from fauxnad plate m64.
Color Club Uptown girl with OPI Servin' up sparkle for glitter tips.
A green skittle look - I just love skittling with my nails :D Definitely one of my favourite nail art techniques ♥
Rimmel grey matter layered with China Glaze Glitz n pieces.
The only polish I can name in this manicure is the glittery OPI I lily love you. And the white is my usual Ulta3 lily white.
OPI Kiss me on my tulips layered with NOPI Inner sparkle. It's easier when I name my photos with the nail polishes used ;)
A blue skittle look. I quite liked the different nail polish finish mixture in this :)
OPI Sprung.
Shimmer Polish Jennifer and Ulta3 spring shower.
Sinful Colors Cinderella.

Nicole by OPI - Candid Cameron
Hello hello! Here is a short and sweet post, featuring Nicole by OPI Candid Cameron :) I applied two coats of this beauty and then sealed it in with a top coat. The duochrome shift really doesn't appear on the nail, but I love the teal shade so what can I say! ;)
A really pretty one to pull out and wear when in the mood for a brighter teal ♥
Thanks for reading as always!

Stripey liquorice nails
Hello everyone~ When in the mood for stripey nails, I go to town ;) I started with two coats of Bourjois 2007 1 seconde nail enamel. I then took Bourjois 2006 Clubbing volume clubbing mascara and a black striper polish to add the stripes. Initially, I really liked the finished look. But then my friend said they reminded him of liquorice allsorts...after that, I wanted to repaint my nails haha!
Maybe if I had kept the look to an accent nail it wouldn't have been so bad. What do you think?

Swatches and review: OPI San Francisco collection
Hi ladies! Awhile back, I had the honour to attend a product launch breakfast as a guest of OPI's PR company. Following the exciting event, an incredible goodie bag was provided for the guests and as a result, I have the utmost pleasure in sharing the gorgeous nail polishes from OPI's San Francisco collection with you today. This beautiful collection consists of 15 nail polishes so be prepared for a huge post!
All the formulas were easy to work with, something I've come to expect from my OPIs nowadays. Almost all the swatches show two coats.
First up, the crèmes and jelly formulas of the collection.
A-piers to be tan is a yellow toned brown. It looks terrible on me but I will definitely find many uses for it in nail art :)
Keeping Suzi at bay is a gorgeous blue crelly. At first glance it looks like a dupe to OPI...Eurso Euro from the Euro Centrale collection but it's a lot less bright and has a slightly dusty look next to the Eurso Euro. Very appropriate for the cooler season!
In the cable car-pool lane is a burgandy jelly. It looks similar to OPI Anti-bleak but with a jelly-ish formula. I say jelly-ish because it's definitely somewhere between a crelly and a jelly.
Lost in Lombard is a dusty red nail polish. I love the dusty look - it's just so appropriate for the cooler months! However, it's not exactly a unique colour but for someone who is only just exploring the red toned shades in the nail polish world, this one is a keeper.
First date at the Golden Gate is quite similar to Lost in Lombard...initially. You can see that it is a more orange toned red and it's got more of a jelly finish. I'm a bit torn between the two because whilst I prefer the shade of Lost in Lombard, I love the name of First date the Golden Gate more. Dilemma!
Incognito in Susalito is definitely one of my favourites from the crèmes this half of the collection. No surprise really, given that it's so dark and dusty ♥ It's a very dark shade of inky blue, but not to the point where it looks black. Loveeeeeee!
Dining Alfrisco is a light sky blue with a dense silver shimmer. The shimmer almost gives the polish a frosty appearance and you have to be a little more careful to avoid obvious brush strokes. Very pretty though, and in a shade of blue I adore ♥
I knead sour-dough has a beautiful red shimmer running throughout it, giving the overall shade a red-toned brown look. This one is definitely very appropriate for the cooler weather and really reminds me of hot chocolate ;)
Haven't the foggiest is a dense silver foil. Has a blue tinge to it.
Muir muir on the wall. Where do I even start?! It's a gorgeous dark burgundy shade with the most awesome shimmer. I have to admit, when I first saw this in person, it reminded me so much of Every month is Octoberfest, from the Germany collection from last year's Fall collection. For a quick comparison, here is my review of Every month is Octoberfest from last year (I believe there was a mix up with the labelling of this polish and German-icure by OPI - the bottle I received was named the latter, hence the name difference in my review. It has since been confirmed to be EMIO though).
Peace & love & OPI is the beautiful duochrome of the collection. Yes, the press release did describe this one to be a holographic polish and no, it isn't holographic. A little bit of a bummer, but the gorgeous colour shift does make up for it a little :) The shift is in no way subtle and you can constantly catch yourself staring at your nails when wearing Peace & love & OPI...at least, I did ;)
Embarca-dare ya is a bright raspberry shimmer. There is a slight duochrome shift visible in the bottle but it doesn't make an appearance on the nail, unfortunately.
Ahhh, now for the Liquid Sands :)
Wharf wharf wharf is the first of two Liquid Sands made by OPI so far which do not have a glitter finish. It applies like a crème polish but once dry, forms a gritty and textured finish. I'm actually surprised that I like this polish, considering I was expecting glitters.
It's all San Andrea's fault is the second Liquid Sand without the glitter finish. Again, I was surprised that I liked it - you can expect to see this in a chocolate themed manicure shortly too ;)
Alcatraz...rocks. Ahhhh, the beautiful multicoloured Liquid Sand. This was the only polish which required three coats from me to be fully opaque, although I'm sure you can get away with two thicker coats. I have no words, just ogle instead ♥ It's no wonder this one is my favourite from the collection - actually, I don't know if I love Peace & love & OPI or Alcatraz...rocks more ;) They're both too beautiful!
Whew, that was one huge post! My picks from this collection will have to be Peace & love & OPI, Incognito in Sausalito, Muir muir on the wall, Wharf wharf wharf and Alcatraz...rocks. What will you be getting when this collection is released?
The San Francisco collection will be available from August 8th at David Jones, Myer stores and selected beauty salons & saps across Australia. Each bottle retails for $19.95.
Thanks for reading!
