Neutral and lacy

Hi ladies~ After wearing such loud and attention calling manicures the past few weeks, I decided it was time for a palette cleanser. Cue the neutral look ;) I created this soft and delicate look with my go to workplace safe nail polish - OPI Did you 'ear about Van Gough and a lace stamping plate from Born Pretty Store. The flowers were from a fauxnad plate I purchased off ebay years ago.

I actually wanted to stamp in black but my usual black stamping polish has run out. Maybe it's a good thing, the white makes the manicure more subtle and softer :) You can purchase the stamping plate from Born Pretty Store here, and with my 10% discount code PIJ61 plus free international shipping, you're staring a bargain in the eye ;)

What are your thoughts on this look?

Green jewelled nails :)

Hello everyone! I've been in a real 3D nail art kick recently so these products from Born Pretty Store couldn't have arrived sooner! I started with two coats of OPI Thanks a windmillion on my pinky, middle and index fingers. I then layered on Ozotic 905 over my index and pinky fingers. For my middle finger, I took rhinestones, bullion beads and glequins to create the look. I didn't realise I had lost a bullion bead when I went to bed until I uploaded the photos, oopsie :P

For my ring finger and thumb, I have two coats of Ulta3 black satin, then applied glequins for a famed nail art look and necklace for the respective nails :)

I absolutely adore this look, all the 3D nail art styles are calling me at the moment! :D

For this manicure look, I used elliptic shaped rhinestones and glequins, as well as some bullion beads and rhinestones. In fact, all the 3D accessories are from Born Pretty Store...says something about the easy access of this online retailer! They also offer free shipping and with my 10% discount code PIJ61, you can't find a better and cheaper deal than this :)

What do you think, is the 3D look growing on you too? ;)

Skittling the purple ombre nails

Hello ladies! Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. I've just started full time work and am trying to juggle work life, personal life and of course, nail painting ;) Sometimes, I really just don't have the energy to sit down and edit photos but hopefully the weekend will give me time to line up some posts for next week.

On to the nails! I recently wanted to have some purple ombre nails and so decided to mix it up so it would also be more skittle looking ;)

From pinky to thumb: OPI Do you lilac it, Essie St Lucia lilac, OPI Siberian nights, China Glaze Light as air, OPI Parlez-vous OPI?OPI Polka.com was layered over the top.

I love how the layering ties the manicure together even better :D I still think Polka.com looks so gorgeous over the lighter shades, what do you think?

Sugar spun nail art...with a twist!

Hi everyone! I'm sure most of you have heard of the sugar spun nail art technique by now and recently, I saw a great alternative to it on Pinterest. Armed with my fan brush and nail polishes, I went to town :D I started off with two coats of Eclipse #706. Once that was dried, I used my fan brush and BYS Colour Change Bright pink and I believe Misa Office polish-tics (sorry, mind blanked and can't be 100% sure!) to give the 'sugar spun' look.

Whilst mine didn't turn out looking as great as the one from Pinterest, I think this was a good first attempt. Because of the constant need to clean the fan brush in between applications though, I'll probably save this for an accent nail look in the future. What do you think, will be you be trying this nail art technique out? Which one do you prefer?

The perfect flakey layering

Hello hello! Not many words today, I'll let the photos do most of the talking. I applied two coats of Ulta3 gooseberry and then layered with two coats of Cult Nails Seduction. Love! ♥ The flakies shift into so many colours and kept me busy staring at them ;)

Adding a matte top coat makes the manicure look darker. In this case, I much more prefer the glossy look :)

Swatches and review: Orly Elation Generation

Hey everyone :) I have the pleasure of showing you a second nail polish from Orly's Hope and Freedom collection, to be released in March 2013. Elation Generation is a pretty pink based polish with a slight coral tinge and has silver glitter swimming amongst the base. I have two coats in the photos and really loved how well the polish flowed onto my nails when applying.

Breathtaking, no? And that's coming for a vampy shade kinda girl ;) I love that the collection has a hippy feel towards it and the names are just so fit for the nail polish :D What do you think, any you'll be picking up?

A stamped multichrome

Hello hello~ A short post today because I'm super tired. It was a late night last night - I stayed behind and played boardgames after the fireworks :D And now the hot Australian weather has rudely woken me up so I'm going to play catch up with some of my posts. I think you'll be seeing the last of my 2012 nail looks over the next few days :)

I layered two coats of Ozotic Sugar 902 over a black base and stamped with black and fauxnad m78.

Not my best stamping as I did it under terrible lighting conditions late at night and didn't notice the bad transfers until the next morning. Oops! When do you normally paint your nails?
