Just like snow globes

Hi ladies! This layering combination was inspired by a snowglobe I received as a present last year :) This is two coats of OPI Thanks a windmillion and layered with China Glaze Snow globe. It was a warm day and Snow globe was thick so I unfortunately ended up with bubbles in this manicure.

Don't worry, my next few posts will be a little more artsy :P

Tiger nails! :)

Hello hello :) Since starting work, I haven't had as much time to post, let alone paint my nails or take awesome pics - I wash my hands a lot at work and as all nail enthusiasts know, this can be detrimental to perfect nail photos :P On top of that, I'm still trying to get through a back log of photos but I'm almost done so expect to see some Christmas themed posts soon!

But onto the tiger nails :) I actually wanted to have citrus themed manicure but the stamping didn't work out well. Oh well, tiger stripes work just as well ♥ I started with two coats of Ulta3 spring blossom then sponged a gradient on my tips with OPI Call me Gwen-ever. I then stamped with BM-223 and a black polish. Finished the look off with LA Colors Sparkling diamonds.

It's been awhile since I've sported animal print nails so I wore this for a few days longer than normal ;) What do you think?

Paris nails! :)

Hi ladies! Here are the actual French themed nails I sported for the night of the dinner :) I decided to go with the French flag colours and added my own interpretation into the mixture for this manicure. But I'll cut the talk and just spam the photos :D

Pinky & Index: Two coats of Maybelline Colorama Candy apple and then sponged with Mode Cosmetics Blackjack. Finally, I layered a coat of OPI Servin' up sparkle.
Ring: Two coats of Blackjack with China Glaze Ring in the red sponged at the tips.
Middle: Two coats of Orly Stone cold. I then used acrylic paint for the 'Paris' writing and the hearts. I went over the writing with a silver glitter nail art striper polish.
Thumb: Two coats of Ulta3 lily white. I used acrylic paint for the Eiffel Tower drawing, and highlighted parts with silver glitter nail art striper. I also filled in the white background with Ulta3 pot of gold.

The Eiffel Tower image was inspired by this nail art tutorial. I was surfing google images for inspiration and this was one of the results :) Up close, it doesn't look quite as great, but when I held my hands at a distance, this was a good pass ;)

Needless to say, I rather enjoyed this manicure! ♥ Have you tried French themed manicures before? What are your thoughts on my attempt? :)

Spam post: some oldie, but goodies :)

Hi ladies! Yep, it's time for some photo spamming because 1. I've been lazy and have some older manicures to shared; and 2. I'm lazy (again!) and I don't want to type too much ;) So enjoy!

Cult Nails Spontaneous

Hello hello :) After all the stamping and nail art recently, I felt like a slight palette cleanser and went with a simple nail of the day look. Cue Cult Nails Spontaneous. It's purple and has a shimmer, what's not to love? Well, so I thought. This polish dried extremely gritty (even for my taste!) and I was quite disappointed with the fact that the beautiful shimmer I thought this polish consisted of was in fact small flecks of glitter. Which dried gritty. Photos show two layers of thick top coat over two coats of Spontaneous, and even then it's not completely even to touch.

I really wanted to love this one, but I'm not so sure about it any more. Have you ever bought a nail polish which was gorgeous in the bottle only to be let down after applying it?

Bows and polka dots

Hi ladies! Boy have I got a girly mani to show you today :P I'm not the girliest of girls and when it comes to nail polish, it really shows. You know, the whole shying away from pink tips and all ;) I was actually in the mood for pink nails though and low and behold, a girly mani landed on my tips!

Pinky & index: Two coats of OPI My very first knockwurst layered with Ozotic Beam 905
Ring: Two coats of MVFK; polka dots were applied with a dotting tool and Australis Blackmail
Middle: Two coats of Hello Kitty Golden girl. The bow was painted with a nail art brush and MVFK mixed with Blackmail
Thumb: Two coats of Blackmail and dotted with Golden girl

I actually recently received a nail art brush and dotting tool kit by Bundle Monster and was super excited to try it out. The sleek pouch design to hold the tools was what really captured my attention - don't you just feel super professional with the kit? :D The plastic flap to protect the brush bristle was an added bonus.

There's such a variety of brushes to choose from, and the dotting tools are great too! I love that the ends of the tools are all different sizes - a great plus when comparing to my cheap ebay ones. I think I only found two ends which were the same dotting size.

Mmm, I just love how awesome Ozotic Beam 905 looks layered over these lighter shades. Much, much better than over black :D ♥

I had initially planned to wear this manicure to a French themed dinner party because I had a dress which matched MVFK. Then I changed dresses last minute and so did my nails...but that's for a later post ;)

What do you think, are these nails too girly for you? ;) Have you tried out the nail brush and dotting tool kit from Bundle Monster yet? Don't forget you can keep up to date with them on their facebook page too!

Press release: Orly Hope and Freedom collection

Hi ladies! I've got some awesome news of Orly's upcoming Hope and Freedom collection early next year. Check out the information below :)

Celebrity manicurist and ORLY Australia Ambassador, Fiona Hay said: “This collection is perfect for the autumn months, when you still want to wear a pop of colour but in more demure tones. My pick for olive skin tones is Coachella Dweller, whilst Elation Generation will suit those with a fair skin tone.”

Plus, all six shades in ORLY’s Hope & Freedom collection are ‘3-free’ and equipped with ORLY’s world famous Gripper Cap for easier application. With all this in mind, there’s really no excuse not to sway to the tune of Hope & Freedom this autumn!
-------------

Oh boyyyyyy :D I'm assuming these are actually meant to be Spring shades for the northern hemisphere but since the collection will be released at the same time in Australia, it's being sold as an Autumn collection. Not that I'm complaining - we usually get collections 6 months later so this is something I'm willing to overlook :P

This collection will be available March 2013 from Orly Beauty. Each bottle retails for $18.95. My picks are definitely Boho Bonnet, Elation Generation and High on Hope so far from the press release. What do you think of these nail polishes? :)
