Some blog changes :)

Hello everyone! If you've been a follower of my blog for awhile, you will know that Polish Infatuated started off as a place to share my nail polish hobby. Whilst this will remain the core focus of my blog, I will also begin to share other beauty related posts. Over the past year or so I have been exploring the larger beauty niche and have developed an interest in it, and now that I feel a little more confident, I hope to share my experiences here as well.

With this new blog direction, I have spent the last week working on the new look of Polish Infatuated. I want to take this opportunity to thank Rose over at Every Little Polish for allowing bloggers to use her beautiful social media icons, as well as providing instructions on how to create the rounded profile picture. Please check out her blog resources tab for more information.

With this new layout, I am hoping that it will be easier to navigate Polish Infatuated. I have created tabs along the top to help readers browse by the category they are interested in. Of course, with the focus of my blog being nails, I have created a whole separate tag dedicated to different nail art techniques.

Please be patient with me as I am still in the process of tagging all my old posts placing them into the correct categories - with almost 700 posts written to date, this will take me a fair amount of time!

I hope you will join me as I take Polish Infatuated into a new direction :)

Bye bye, Google Reader

Hello ladies. I'm sure you've seen an influx of posts revolving around this topic as it is time to finally bid Google Reader adieu ♥ I previously typed up a post on alternative ways to follow Polish Infatuated but it's a little out of date (it's only been 3 months - how quickly do things change on the internet!) so here's a final post :)

1. Use Bloglovin'. You can easily import your current list from Google Reader onto Bloglovin'.

2. Follow via Google Friend Connect (GFC).
3. If you're a fan of receiving email updates, you can also subscribe with your email - this can be found under the GFC widget.

4. Follow my picture ramblings on Instagram.

5. You can  also find me over on Polish Infatuated's Facebook Page :)

6. I also pin over at Pinterest!

7. Of course, you can also find me over at my Flickr account, where you can have a sneak peak of upcoming posts in a photo dump of recently edited photos. They usually won't have a corresponding blog post...yet. That comes after another round of procrastinating ;)

Polish Infatuated is on Instagram!

Hi ladies! My deepest apologies for not posting as regularly the past week. I have been so busy at work that when I come home, the last thing I want to do is to edit photos and type up a post. Instead, I finally made an Instagram account for Polish Infatuated and sat back to explore a new world of nail art ;).

As you can see, there's not a whole lot going on right now - I'm just too busy browsing other ladies' nail art and following them! - but I'll be building on it soon when I have the chance to edit more photos :)

If you have an Instagram account, I'd love to check it out! And of course, it would be lovely to see you over there too ^^ I'll try and get a nail post up later tonight...maybe if I'm good, I can get some swatches up of OPI's San Francisco collection ;) Otherwise, there'll definitely be something up by tomorrow!

We'll miss you, Google Reader ♥

Hi ladies! This post is a little off topic today in that it's not related to my nails. There's important news about the way you read and follow my blog though!

So basically, word has gotten around that Google Reader will cease to function from July 1st this year. Those of you who read and follow my blog through Google Reader will unfortunately have to find alternatives :( I'm not sure on how much it'll affect Google Friend Connect but here are some alternatives to following my blog anyway.

The good news is that Bloglovin' has a button which allows you to easily import all the blogs you follow from Google Reader onto Bloglovin'. I've received a number of new followers via Bloglovin' today so a fair few ladies have already started to make the switch.

If you don't want to use Bloglovin', there are also a few others ways for you to follow my posts :)

Follow via Hellocotton. It's similar to Bloglovin', except without the easy button to import all blogs from Google Reader. It does however, have a huge range of blogs for you to search and sift through. Who knows, you might end up with another hundred of beauty or nail related blogs to follow ;)

I also have an email subscription option available on my right sidebar, underneath the Google Friend Connect widget. Or you can just hit ctrl + f and type 'email address' into the search bar to find it.

You can also follow me on my social media sites - either via Facebook or Pinterest. I also upload all my images to my Flickr account :)

Hopefully you find this post helpful and that you'll be able to keep up with my postings via one or more of the methods above :) I'm more than willing to help or answer any questions if you have any so you can comment below or shoot me an email for more information.

Second Blog Anniversary!

Hi everyone :) My, how time flies! I can't believe I have reached my second blogging anniversary <3 Who would have thought I'd stick with this for so long :P

I'm definitely not a blogger who posts everyday, so I'm especially appreciative of my readers who have stuck through it with me. I've shown the not so good and some manicures I've been quite proud of on this blog and of course, there are plenty more to come! :)

New blog layout! :)

Hi ladies! Apologies if you were trying to access my blog within the last two hours, during that time I was working on revamping the page ^^

I'm no expert at graphics, I can only do basic editing so I turned to the world wide web for some cool backgrounds. I found mine at The Cutest Blog on the Block - all credits for the background goes towards them! I also used the accompanying header and tweaked it a little by adding an image and my blog name to it.

I do have a short attention span when it comes to layouts and such - I like to change things around more often than others because I get bored of seeing the same thing all the time. Hopefully this one will last for a bit since it's so pretty :D

I'm pretty happy with the way it's turned out, what do you think? :)

Bloglovin & Pinterest

Hi everyone~ You may have noticed recently that I added a button to follow me on Pinterest on my sidebar. With Google Friend Connect being discontinued for non-blogger hosted websites, I won't be surprised if even blogger hosted sites will see the end of it too. Because of this, I'm opening up other ways to follow me. You can do so through Pinterest - this is especially good for those who don't like to read long ramblings and just want to get to the photo goodies :P. You can also follow me on bloglovin; the button is just above Pinterest.

Off to Hong Kong! :D

Hi ladies~ You may have noticed my decrease in posting lately - this is due to me being being busy preparing for my trip back to Hong Kong! Because I'll be busy enjoying my holiday and shopping, posting will definitely be more sporadic. I do have some posts which are scheduled and I'll probably update if I can while I'm in Hong Kong, but for the majority of the time, I won't be able to come onto my little blog corner!

Before I go though, I have a favour to ask you all ^^ Last time I was in HK, I wasn't into nail polish. Now that I am and am going back too....where are some good places to shop for nail polish? I'm hoping to find cheap Korean brands like Skinfood and The Faceshop as well as Nfu Ohs (hopefully!!!) and other hard to find brands in Australia :D Thanks in advance!

I'm back! :)

Hi ladies~ Firstly, I'd like to apologise for my brief absence - has it really been ten days since my last post?! As you know from my previous sporadic posting, I was sick and finally felt the full brunt of it in my absence. I am however well on the road to recovery now and have actually painted my nails after over two weeks (!!) of naked nails. Manicure postings shall resume shortly once I've taken photos hehe.

Oh and welcome to my new followers :) I do hope you'll stick around, I promise there will be relevant mani posts coming very soon! For now, please know that I appreciate each and one of you for actually reading my little blog ^^

Posts being stolen :(

Hey everyone~ I just found out from the lovely Em that my posts are being stolen by another person. It's shocking for me that anyone would do such a thing, especially when they're straight out copying and pasting my posts (including my name at the end of each post)! As I watermark my photos, I'm not too worried about that - actually, if this weren't so serious it'd be funny since the blog name is Cool Nail Art Designs (*ahem* not Polish Infatuated). Unfortunately what the person is doing is totally UNCOOL.

If any one has any idea on how to deal with this, please let me know! I have no way to contact the person since the contact tab doesn't have a link to anything so any help will be extremely appreciated!
