Swatches & review: Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick

Hi ladies! Rimmel recently released a new and improved formula to their Moisture Renew Lipsticks in 13 new shades. As the name suggests, I found the lippies to be quite moisturising for my lips - no dry feeling whilst I wore them.

There were a range of brighter shades, darker and vampier ones as well as the more neutral shades. Me being me, I leaned towards the brighter shades, and also a dark and vampy plum.

From the shades I swatched, I found they were quite pigmented.

Back to Fuchsia is a beautiful bright raspberry. It's definitely right up my alley!

Amethyst Shimmer has a fine shimmer and results in a pearly looking finish. To be honest, it looked rather like a 'grandma' shade and not one I will be reaching for often - it doesn't look particularly flattering on me as well.

In Love with Ginger is another huge winner for me. I love this orange toned red and is bold, yet wearable. I find this shade of red easier to wear compared to blue toned reds anyway.

Diva Red is a darker red. Very bold and sophisticated!

Sloane's Plum was the shade I was most excited to try, but also the least flattering on me. It made me look rather vampire like - I guess I'm not a dark plum kinda gal.

I wore my two favourite shades and managed to find some good lighting to take a few photos. Unfortunately, my actual lip swatches still turned out duller than what is seen in real life.

Back to Fuchsia:

In Love with Ginger:

The wear time on the lippies were average; around 3-4 hours before fading. Eating and drinking will definitely affect wear time and create the unfortunate 'ring of colour' effect.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick are available from Priceline, Target, Kmart, Big W and selected pharmacies across Australia. They retail at $13.95 each.

What do you think, are there any you think you might want to pick up?

Thanks for reading.

Swatches & review: Ulta3 Lip Paint

Hi everyone! Today, I have something a little bit different - it's a non-nail related post. I have been dabbling a lot more into makeup for awhile now and would love to share my experience too. Whilst Polish Infatuated started off as a nail polish focused blog, I think a lot of readers are also interested in makeup, which is why I have finally decided to post about other beauty products too. Don't worry, this blog will definitely remain focused on nail polish, but I'll also be posting about makeup every now and then :)

So, onto the lippies! I have been rather obsessed with colours this past summer and the Ulta3 Lip Paints arrived just in time before the season ended! From top to bottom: Manic Mauve, Eclectic Orange, Extreme Pink, Radical Red, Loud Purple, Expressive Fuchsia.

These lip glosses are bold and very opaque - they're definitely not for the faint of heart! The lip glosses come with a doe foot applicator that I was pleasantly surprised with, considering the super affordable $5.95 price point. When the gloss is applied, I felt a soothing cooling sensation, which I think is due to the peppermint oil present.

Here is a quick swatch of each shade on my arm. Manic Mauve is definitely the 'safest' shade of the lot and was the one I was drawn to many times when I first tried them on. Expressive Fuchsia has really caught my attention recently though, and I find myself always reaching for it now.

Are you a fan of bold lippies? What are some good recommendations? :)

Thanks for reading!

Australis Mint Condition Lip Gloss

Hello gorgeous people :) Imagine my surprise when I received a lovely package a few weeks ago from Australis! Sitting in the box amidst a blanket of Minties (mmm, yummo!) were six of Australis' new Mint Condition Lip Gloss (Geddit? Minties for Mint Condition? :D). I have a small collection of various lip glosses in my room but I honestly haven't worn many for quite some time now. Since receiving the Australis lip glosses though, I've been wearing them more often and am loving it lots! This is my first time swatching lip glosses and I tried my best. Hopefully they're not too messy ><

The lip glosses in order:
Happily Ever Laughter: a very pale pink shade which I'm sure will bring some colour to my lips :)
Meow with your mind: a peachy pink
Freely innocent: a clear lip gloss with gold shimmer in it. Perfect for a more neutral look!
Malice in Wonderpink: I love this one! It's a hot pink and totally what I need to give my lips the lovely colour it needs :)
Un-birthday Suit: it's described as a 'brown latte' by Australis. I'm not too big of a fan of this shade on my lips.
An Evening With: a bright red gloss, one which I'll be sporting for a more dramatic look hehe.

A huge plus for these lip glosses is that they have UV protection and are moisturising. Perfect for these cold and dry winter days :) The Mint Condition Lip Glosses retail for $8.95 and can be found in Big W, Kmart, Target and Priceline. Normally I'll use a lip gloss once or twice and then it'll stay at the back of my drawer for ages. Not this time though. I'll definitely be using them veryyyy often :)

What are your thoughts on lip glosses?
