Tristam stamped

Hello! Despite loving the look of A-England Tristam, I was itching to stamp over it. I'm still pretty new to stamping so this is no where near perfect but I still quite liked the end result! Stamped with fauxnad m69 and Rimmel Your majesty, my favourite silver stamping polish :D

Mmmm, I can't stop stamping! Got some new plates on the way soon too... ;)

A-England Tristam

Hello everyone! I'm really sorry about the sporadic posting lately, Uni work is piling up and I just don't have the time to change my manicures as often any more. Goodness knows how long I've been wearing them! Anyway, have some holographic yumminess to make up for the lack of posts! This is two coats of A-England Tristam.

My nail polish stash!

Hi ladies! :) I recently felt the need to reorganise my stash so here's a more updated post of my current stash. Can you believe the last time I bothered was over a year ago :P Firstly, I admit I don't have the largest stash around. I try my hardest to only acquire nail polishes I don't already own in my stash as I do not wish to be a nail polish hoarder (although who am I kidding - who needs 200+ bottles of nail polish anyway...? >___>)

This post is picture loaded so we'll get right into it. And because of the large number of photos, I cut the post so just click on the 'read more' to see all my nail polishes! :) Come, I invite you to dive into this tub with me ;)

Purple viking paired with Uptown girl?

Hi ladies! I didn't realise the hilarity of my layering combination nail polish name wise until I had to type up this post :P I started off with two coats of Color Club Uptown girl before layering one coat of Savvy by DB Purple viking over it. Gotta love the pairing of this...nail polish wise ;)

uptown girl layered with purple viking1

Savvy by DB is a nail polish line found in Priceline and was recently revamped with a better, cooler line of nail polishes. I can't wait to see what else this brand comes out with! At $2.99 per bottle, I may or may not have to go back and pick up the other glitters... :P

Purple viking reminds me of Sally Hansen Be-Jeweled, but a less dense version. I don't own the SH so I can't vouch for it but looking at swatches, they do seem rather close!

What do you think of this pretty purple glitter?

Double chevron tips

Hello everyone :) I recently tried out a double chevron tip mani and quite liked the way it turned out! Well, the colour combination helps, I previously used a similar combination here :)

I started with two coats of OPI Parlez-vous OPI? and Thanks a windmillion (alternated on each finger) for the base colour. I then took Ulta3 lily white to apply the first layer of chevron tips. Lastly, I used the opposite colour for the second chevron.

I quite liked the end result, despite the wobbly lines :P

Swatches & review: Double Dutch Cosmetics Tickled Pink Dutchess

Hellooooo~ :) I was recently contacted by Raynell & Danyell Hutchison from Double Dutch Cosmetics to review a nail polish. Tickled pink dutchess is a vibrant pink which reminds me a bit of Orly Fiesta. It arrived in a purple pouch which is a lovely touch - however, I was concerned with the lack of packaging to ensure the product arrived safely and intact. I have since spoken with the girls about this and they have assured me they are working on boxes to package the polishes in. My bottle also arrived with polish leaked around the neck due to it not being screwed tightly enough.

The photo below shows two coats of Tickled pink dutchess. The nail polish was a little thick due to the lid not being screwed on properly but it was manageable. No clean up was required. The pink is a little hotter than my photos show and has an almost hidden shimmer in it.

I decided to do a little cloud nail art with the polish since I wanted more than a simple shimmer polish. I used OPI My very first knockwurst for the base colour and Hello Kitty Golden girl for the gold cloud layer.

I quite liked how the colours came together but the pink tips was just too girly for me so I took it off after a day :P

A nice, simple manicure

Hi ladies! Sometimes, it's nice to revert back to simple manicures, especially when you're short of time. It amazes me that I can actually do my nails within 15 minutes if I want to cut the nail art!

Check out the gorgeous Orly Fowl play below in three thin coats. I need to wear this baby more! ♥

Review: Some Born Pretty Store products

Hello everyone~ :) Sorry for the lack of posting recently, I haven't had as much time with Uni starting again - I'm absolutely swamped with assignments. I did receive some products from Born Pretty Store awhile ago so I thought I'd get this post up sooner rather than later! First up are the cuticle oil in lemon and rose scents (I couldn't find the lemon scent on the site for some reason). Pros and cons?

bps cuticle oil1

Pros:
- The scent isn't too overpowering
- Compact and easy to carry around
- Has a brush to rub in the oil - no need to get oil all over your fingers!

Cons:
- I couldn't for the life of me get any oil out even after constantly twisting it. And then all of a sudden, a whole lot comes out at the brush. I ended up with cuticle oil EVERYWHERE.
- Both tubes look the same. In fact, I can't tell any differences in smell from them.
- The oil leaves a sticky feeling behind on my cuticles.
- My cuticles didn't feel any more moisturised after use.
- I'm not sure there is actually 8ml of product as advertised on the website.

bps cuticle oil2

My verdict? Not worth it. Yes, it's cheap at only $1.79 each or even $10.52 for 10 but I didn't feel any change except for sticky fingers.

Okay, with the bad out of the way and done with, lets move onto the more worthy products to purchase! :) Below are 12 Nail Art Foil Gold Orange Green Decoration Set Glitter New and 10 styles Gold Lace 3D Nail Art Tips Decals Stickers Manicure.

bps foils

I'm a little unhappy with the way my stickers were carelessly folded and packaged - the least that could have been done was to fold along the bits which didn't have stickers on it :(

bps stickers1

bps stickers2

But anyway, here's a look I created with the foil and stickers. Quick and easy! I loved working with the foil pieces, I simply held onto a sheet and used a tweezer to pull off little bits of it. I had in mind to create a gold flake top coat, but I don't think I quite achieved the look. I should have probably torn the foil into smaller pieces. The stickers stuck on very well and I look forward to playing around with it more. Especially eyeing that butterfly design ;)

Some freehand lace nails

Hello hello~ This was my second attempt at some freehand lace nails (my first attempt was so bad I couldn't post it :P) and whilst it's still not the best, I think it's good enough to gather some feedback on it ^^

I started off with two coats of OPI My very first knockwurst before using some acrylic black paint to draw on the lace design. You can see that my left hand isn't even close to perfect so you can just imagine what a disaster my right hand looked...oh dear :P Gotta work on the left hand drawing skills!

Maybe I should get some lace nail stickers and use those instead - I've been very into the lace nail art recently. Just can't seem to get enough of it!

What do you think of my freehand lace attempt? :P

Swatches & review: OPI The Skyfall collection

Hi everyone! Today I have a few nail polishes from OPI's upcoming Skyfall collection to show you :) I'll cut the chit chat and dive straight into it!

First up is my absolute favourite Live and let die. OPI described this as an almost black green and I've gotta admit they were spot on with this. It's almost black but not dark enough to miss the green tinges. And omigosh, the yellow flecks! They make the polish so much more interesting and to die for! This baby is so opaque that my swatches show ONE coat. Formula was perfect, if a little thicker than I'd prefer, but I can't complain if it's going to be this opaque ♥

Yummy macro shot of the beauty :D

live and let die3

Next up is The world is not enough. I had high expectations of this as it looked like a duochrome from the press release photos. It's not quite as strong, but there is still a colour shift...if you look closely. It does show up much better in person - my camera just wasn't able to capture it, no matter how many photos I took. This was three thin coats and lovely formula, once again. I expect nothing less from OPI in terms of formula :)

The polish I was most looking forward to was The living daylights. I can't say I'm such a big fan of it seeing it in person but maybe I just need to work on the layering combinations :P I know I'll need to try this over a plain black though, that's for sure! Below, I've layered one thick coat over Live and let die.

I received only three nail polishes for review but if the rest of the collection is anywhere like the ones I have now, I know I'll be reaching for my wallet when it is officially released ;)

Which polishes are you most looking forward to?

Squishy jellyyyyyyy

Hi ladies~ I'm going to keep this short and sweet today.

I started with two coats of OPI Road House Blues and then layered a coat of Essence Blue addicted over it. Well known as the cheaper dupe of Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe, this is a beautiful jelly ♥ It can probably get opaque in three coats but I felt like giving it undies.
