The postman visits

A couple of Sundays ago,  placed an order on BF Beauty for some stamping plates. They finally arrived yesterday (it took 8 working days from Hong Kong to Australia - that's not bad, I don't think ^^) and I could hardly contain my glee. I think I even squealed aloud a few times...

I was too lazy to take each individual plate out of the packet for the photo, hehe.

I was so excited I decided to try out some stamping straight away. Stripped my nails of my matte manicure and painted on China Glaze's Light as Air. Then I used an Australian polish for stamping; BYS' French White.

It's my first time stamping, so it's not a fabulous job; actually, my right hand was rather fail so I didn't use it for photos this time. My favourite nail would have to my left middle finger even though part of the butterfly wasn't stamped on properly. You can only imagine what a disaster my right hand is from this photo, lol.

I used plate C03:

As the saying goes, practice makes perfect, so all I have to do is spend more time on stamping. Oh, and get some polishes which are more appropriate for stamping too - you can see that the white polish didn't come out that well.

Matte polish

After reading so much about matte polishes from other polish blogs, I was quite excited to get my hands on some myself. Cue Orly's Matte Vinyl.
Matte Vinyl

In all honesty, I felt a bit underwhelmed by the polish. I don't think it's Orly's fault, I think it's just that I expected too much from a matte polish. I was so excited to become a proud owner of it that it influenced my expectations from it; I had thought it'd be absolutely fabulous. The outcome? A flat polish finish. I wasn't too pleased with it, so I decided to spice up my manicure and gave it some glitter. Oh, and absolutely defy the entire purpose of having a matte finish polish by 'shining' it up.

Perhaps I was just expecting too much from the polish; I definitely don't love it, but on the other hand, I don't hate it either. If I can just think of something awesome to add to the manicure besides applying glitter...hmmm, something to sleep on, I guess :P.

C-C-Courage?

I finally decided to try out China Glaze's C-C-Courage first :). I cannot begin to describe this polish, it's just so yummy!

Indoors, with flash:

I love how this polish is just overflowing with glitter particles, and the purple is probably my favourite shade yet. The polish doesn't dry smooth, but that's one of the reasons why I love it so much. I don't own many glitter polishes, so I think I've got to get my hands on some more, especially if they're like this *___*. I just can't stop myself from touching my nails all the time, lol.

Hello! + a haul

So, I've finally gotten myself around to dedicating a blog to my polish addiction :P. I was thrown into the world of polish earlier this year after stumbling across a polish blog. Needless to say, I became a bit obsessed with nail polish and began to paint my nails on a regular basis thereafter.

I currently own 55 bottles of nail polish, which sounds quite little when compared to all the polish addicts in the blogosphere hehe. Just yesterday, I went on a mini excursion to buy some China Glaze and Orly nail polish :).
